The Treasure Coast spans the east coast of Florida roughly from Jupiter to Vero Beach. It derives it's name from a Spanish treasure fleet that was lost during a hurricane in 1715. Their are a lot of great windsurfing spots on the Treasure Coast but this blog focuses mainly on the Indian River from Stuart to Jensen Beach.

North wind on the First of October!
Yesterday I went Sailing at the Ft Pierce inlet. Wind was out of the North and was blowing 16-18mph. I rigged my freeride gear, a 7.0 on my 118L Bic. It was sunny, the tide was going out, water was super flat by the jetty: all this made for some fun sailing. There was always half a dozen kiters on the water and the same number up on the beach. The water was really clear and you could see jelly fish big as dinner plates pass underneath. On the outside past the jetty there was a nice ocean swell to sail on. During the second hour of sailing the wind had built up some and I could have been on my wave board and a 6.0 but I didn't re-rig.
