The Treasure Coast spans the east coast of Florida roughly from Jupiter to Vero Beach. It derives it's name from a Spanish treasure fleet that was lost during a hurricane in 1715. Their are a lot of great windsurfing spots on the Treasure Coast but this blog focuses mainly on the Indian River from Stuart to Jensen Beach.

This mild front has povided some windsurfing opportunities. Thursday the wind was out of the north and blowing straight down the river. I rigged a 5.0 on the 92L board and was out for an hour. Some more of our seasonal windsurfers are here. I spoke with Dave M., Jack, Marion and saw Tom from Detroit. Friday I rigged a 6.0 on the 118L board. The wind was NNE, so I headed up the river with Art. I sailed at "Arts cove" for about 45 minutes. The water was flat with some huge gusts coming through. Today I met James D at the Ft Pierce inlet to try my hand at wave sailing. I was on my 92L board and sailed a 6.0, 5.5 and a 6.5. James was very helpful, giving me tips and letting me try different sails. The photos above are of James.
